5th Wine Pleasures Workshop: Buyer meets Spanish Cellar – Hotel Port Sitges Resort 15 – 17 March 2009.
The Cooperativa Agrícola Cellers de l’Arboç, was founded in 1919 when a group of vine growers decided to get together and be the pioneers of the varietal elaboration and fermentation under controlled temperature of the extraordinary and aromatic wines and cavas of the Penedès region.
Nowadays, the society has 400 families that cultivate more than 1.000 hectares of vineyards situated in the Plana del Penedès, a protected zone by the mountainous systems of the coast and pre-coast and has a gentle climate due to the proximity to the Mediterranean sea.
The company has its own technical department with the purpose of always improving the quality of all the products and a very close monitoring is done from the growing of the vine to the right moment of the harvest.
Our varieties are: Chardonnay, Macabeu, Muscat, Xarel.lo and Parellada for the white wines and Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot for the red ones.
We have the most modern installations with the latest technologic advances for the elaboration of more than 2 million bottles of cava elaborated by the traditional method Champenoise and also steel tanks with a capacity of 15 million litres of wine.
We have a cellar with a capacity of 10 million bottles of wine and cava at a constant temperature and humidity that wait for the right moment to be on the market.
